MONITORING PROGRAM AT AGROIPSA, ASSESMENT OF DIFFERENT SPACINGS PLANTING JATROPHA
Agroipsa has conducted a Jatropoha monitoring program since January, 2008. Throughout the development of this program and the daily management of the Jatropha's farms in Honduras the technique crew of Agroipsa has gained experience and understanding the behavior of the Jatropha in a large scale operation.
The monitoring program is been acomplished on an experimental plot located inside a farm called Santa Lucia. 500 plants have been monitored concerning Seed yield and growth parameters. Growth parameters such as height, diameter and number of: branches, leaves, fruits and flowers are been gathered. Data collecting is carried out every week by Agroiopsa's techs.
Agroipsa has also initiated Jatropha curcas improvement trials for further enhacement of its quality. Agroipsa has undertaken to develop elite planting material (seeds and clones) for commercial cultivation in the country, that's why elite plants have been selected by developing of its monitoring program. Agroipsa has utilized the elite plants selected and the information collected during 20 months to obtained 1,117 cuttings named Hon-101. These selected Jatropha material will provide access to higher yield and plants better adapted to tropical growing conditions. Therefore this selected material will further enhance the productivity and profitability of Jatropha for growers around the world. The originate genetic material of Hon-101 has been analysed by international well recognized reserach centers, wich guaranteed the high potential Hon-101, becoming a suitable option to increase the success posibilities growing Jatropha.

ANOTHER RESEARCH PROJECTS AND FURTHER TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Through its Department of Research and Develolpment, Agroipsa has undertaken many research programs and has documented the daily farm management in order to meet technical information requirement for commercial cultivation of Jatropha curcas.
In addition to propietary Agroipsa research projects, have developed in partnership with the two major agriculture universities in Honduras, many other projects in order to gain more understanding and further enhance the agronomics techniques applied to growing plantations to ensure a good performance of them. In the list below appears brief information of some of the thesis projects that have been developed in Agroipsa's farms.
